Dolly Parton is disappointed to hear Jessica Simpson has parted ways with her country music record label - but hopes the singer will continue her career.
Simpson switched from pop to country, launching her new sound in 2008 but her debut record, Do You Know, sold fewer than 200,000 copies.
The star confirmed earlier this year (08) that she is no longer on the books at her Sony Nashville label.
But Parton, who recorded a duet with Simpson, insist the young star should not give up her country dreams - urging her to create her own opportunities in the music business.
She tells Usweekly magazine, "I think that's sad because she is a fabulous singer. They dropped me from the label too, but I just started my own label. So maybe you'll get Jessica Records next?"
