Property tycoon Donald Trump proved he's no master on the golf course recently, when he was placed among the bottom in a celebrity tournament.

Trump finished 56th in his debut on Sunday (18JUL04) at the $500,000 (GBP270,700) AMERICAN CENTURY celebrity golf championship at Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and he admits he didn't expect the competition to be so strong.

He says, "They are all great athletes, very, very good golfers. I was surprised at the level. The level is very, very high."

Trump's list of opponents included former basketball star Michael Jordan, TV personalities MAURY POVICH and AHMAD RASHAD, actor Kevin Sorbo, and tennis ace Pete Sampras.

Former hockey star DAN QUINN's birdie on the final hole helped him win the contest.
