Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige and Stevie Nicks made music mogul Jimmy Iovine the toast of Hollywood as they celebrated his impressive career at a pre-Grammy Awards event on Wednesday (08Feb12).
Sean 'Diddy' Combs, will.i.am and Colbie Caillat were also on hand as the producer and Interscope Records boss was handed the Recording Academy Presidents Merit Award at The Village Recording Studios in Los Angeles.
Iovine was treated to a video tribute looking back on his work with artists such as John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen and Lady Gaga, before two of his newer acts, Skylar Grey and Lana Del Rey, took to the stage to perform.
Blige was full of praise for her collaborator, telling reporters, "He's not afraid to say what he likes and doesn't like. He's just honest - I love that quality. As a musician himself, he can see things as an artist.
"With Jimmy, it's like family. He's down to earth and I respect that about our relationship. I don't take it for granted."
