Movie beauty Drew Barrymore reshot the final scenes of new baseball romance film Fever Pitch while the BOSTON RED SOX beat the NEW YORK YANKEES in the background.

The cameras were still rolling last week (20OCT04) when the Red Sox won their first World Series since 1918, and captured Barrymore and co-star JIMMY FALLON running onto the field screaming, 'They did it!'

The movie, adapted from British author Nick Hornby's best-selling novel, tells the story of the Red Sox' unexpected victory, which is why the real-life win during filming caused such a shock.

Director PETER FARRELLY says, "We've got them celebrating on the field. It's the end of the movie. And what an ending it was. This is like the aliens made contact. It's something we've thought about for a long time, but never thought was possible.

"We've always been lucky but this is the luckiest we've ever been - to be involved with this thing at this time."
