Singer Cher, Lethal Weapon's Danny Glover and former GUNS N' ROSES rocker Duff Mckagan were among the stars who tackled a four-hour cycling challenge for charity on Tuesday (11Sep12).
Actor Djimon Hounsou and The Sex Pistols' Steve Jones also hopped on stationary bikes set up on the Santa Monica Pier in California for the Cycle For Heroes event, organised to raise money for wounded U.S. soldiers.
Cher arrived in the final hour to help finish the mission, and admits she was particularly inspired by a young amputee who also took part.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, she writes, "There were beautiful young Marines with as many as 3 1/2 limbs missing! Our best, bravest & brightest...
"Many feelings come up when u c (you see) a beautiful young man in a wheelchair w/ (with) 3 limbs missing & the 1 he has left terribly hurt! There were so many ppl (people) there but I wanted to sit down quietly & speak with this boy! I met a totally cool young man w/ (with) all his limbs gone."
