A public vote has revealed Duffy is the people's favourite to win her first Brit award at tonight's ceremony.
The Welsh singer is nominated in four categories and after she achieved the best selling debut of the year worldwide in 2008, her fans want the Mercy star to triumph at the Brits.
An online poll conducted among 7,000 users of HMV's music and film social networking site getcloser.com revealed a public vote would see Duffy winning in all four categories in which she is nominated - particularly best British female solo artist, in which she picked up a huge 59 per cent of the vote.
Take That remain in the public's hearts, according to the poll, with 34 per cent of respondents favouring the reunited boyband to win best British group while James Morrison is the people's choice to win best British male solo artist.
Though Coldplay have four nominations, the getcloser poll only earmarked them as favourites for best British live act, while Kings Of Leon were favoured in the international group and album categories.
"Most artist awards are often obvious and well deserved, but there are times when the judges can be out of synch with British public opinion, so we thought it would be fun to put this to the test - this year and in future," explained Matt Potter of getcloser.com.
"Chances are there will be a large measure of agreement over Duffy, who could dominate this year's event, and in a number of the international categories also.
"However, I suspect there may be some divergence in respect of Coldplay, who have only been selected in the live act category by our users, but, in reality, could well pick up the highly prized group and album awards on the night."
