Funnyman Eddie Izzard is urging British Prime Minister David Cameron to take action against global hunger at a nutrition summit in London on Saturday (08Jun13).

Cameron is hosting the Nutrition for Growth Summit, an international meeting aimed at fight malnutrition in the developing world, and Izzard is calling for him to clamp down on the problem and save the lives of millions of children.

In a new hard-hitting Public Service Announcement for the Enough Food for Everyone If campaign, the comedian says, "On June 8th, the U.K. Prime Minster will host a nutrition summit that brings together world leaders to decide the fate of millions of children. These leaders have the power to stop hunger and malnutrition and invest in saving children's lives as well as helping their countries to develop.

"The nutrition summit is the opportunity for the Prime Minster to show leadership and commit the funds to see the beginning of the end of hunger. Now is the time for David Cameron to act, for children around the world."

Earlier this week (06Jun13), fellow British comic David Walliams paid a visit to Cameron at his official London residence, 10 Downing Street, alongside 100 U.K. school children to call on the politician to tackle the ever-growing problem of child malnutrition.

If Campaign supporters are asking attendees at Saturday's Nutrition for Growth Summit to commit to mobilising an additional $1 billion annually to help end global malnutrition.
