DREAMGIRLS star JENNIFER HUDSON was stunned when Eddie Murphy lost the Best Supporting Actor award at the Oscar ceremony on Sunday (25FEB07) and feared the members of the Academy had turned against the film. Murphy was heavily favoured to take home the prize but lost out to LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE star Alan Arkin. Hudson claims she was nervous about her nomination for Best Supporting Actress in the film and Murphy's loss added to her feelings of insecurity. She explains when he lost, "I was very, very shocked. Very shocked. And of course that made everybody nervous. "We were all like 'Uh-oh. Oh, God.' You know, but he's still a winner." Hudson ended up wining the Oscar for her role as EFFIE WHITE in the film.
