Ronnie Wood has apologised to his ex-wife.

Jo Wood's divorce from The Rolling Stones rocker was finalised last month, more than two years after he left her in July 2008 to embark on a relationship with waitress Ekaterina Ivanova and she has revealed Ronnie, who had fallen off the wagon at the time, has now apologised for his behaviour.

She said: "I think it's good to apologise . actually I just got an apology from my ex the other day. He said he was sorry.

"It was nice of him . I said, 'I forgive you now and I forgave you then.'

"It's the first time I've ever known him actually to say I'm sorry, so that was quite amazing."

Though Jo admits she misses being in a relationship, she insists she would never reconcile with 63-year-old Ronnie - who is now dating Ana Araujo, 30 - because she is happy being independent.

Speaking on TV show 'Loose Women', the 56-year-old blonde said: "I'd never have him back now I'm too happy on my own. I love my life now.

"I love it, I don't have to answer to anybody, except my kids actually.

"I do miss having somebody to love me, but it's great. It has its advantages and its disadvantages. But I love working and I love getting out there and coming home when I want."

Ronnie and Ekaterina had a 14-month relationship before they separated following his arrest for an "assault" on her in December 2009.

But the musician recently insisted his affair was not the reason for his split from Jo - with whom he has two children with and a stepson.

He said: "The fact I had a mid-life crisis at 60 has nothing to do with it."
