Celebrities including Elijah Wood and Aaron Paul are backing the bid to save a taco stand in Los Angeles' Studio City.

The 'Lord of the Rings' actor and the 'Breaking Bad' star joined locals at Henry's Tacos - located at the corner of Tujunga and Moorpark - on Sunday (16.12.12) as they battled to save the iconic eatery from closure after it lost its lease.

Elijah told losangeles.cbslocal.com: ''I would come here with my family. We would get take out and take it home, or sit out on the benches, my brother and I and my dad and my mom and my sister. I used to live here, I used to live in the Valley, until I was 17. So a good amount of my early childhood and my teenage years were definitely spent hanging out at this place.''

Aaron tweeted a link to the petition to prevent the closure and urged his followers on Twitter to join him at the taco stand on Sunday.

He wrote: ''Who's coming to eat tacos with me today? #SaveHenrysTacos

''Thank you to everyone who came out to support Henry's Tacos today. Truly amazing. So nice to see the beautiful community come together. #LA (sic).''

While talk show host George Lopez couldn't make it to the ''eat in'', he paid for all tacos bought between 2pm and 3pm in order to encourage people to attend.

He tweeted: ''To Clarify, I'm buying Tacos at #SaveHenrysTacos from 2pm to 3pm unfortunately I won't be there @aaronpaul_8 will be holding it down!! (sic)''
