Elizabeth Hurley's son wants to work in TV.

The 49-year-old actress took her 12-year-old son Damian on to the set of her new series 'The Royals' and she could see he had the urge to follow in her footsteps.

Speaking about Damian's ambitions, she said: ''Damien is 13 next month. I didn't want him to be a city kid, I wanted him to be a country kid ... Last summer, during his vacation from school, he was on the film set and he loved every single second of it. He adores it. He really wants to do it ... he's not sure (whether to be in front or camera or behind) but he likes all of it.''

In E! series 'The Royals', Hurley plays a fictional version of Britain's ruling monarch, Queen Helena, and although she is aware it does not portray an accurate representation of the real royal family she's pleased the show makes London look like such a great city.

In an interview on 'This Morning', she said: ''This is E!'s first scripted drama ... and when they said this was in London, which is really integral and important in this, you'll see England is at its absolute best. We really, really show off... It's kind of fabulous for us, I think.''

In the series, Joan Collins plays her on-screen mother, the Grand Duchess of Oxford, and Hurley admits she based her own character on the small screen legend.

She said: ''Maybe Joan Collins was my inspiration ... I was inspired a little by her part in 'Dynasty', so I pulled a little bit from her but also I tried to think, 'What would Princess Diana maybe have looked like had she become our queen and was queen today?' So I was pulled on her looks wise and how she might have looked, personality wise not at all .. that was more Joan Collins and maybe Cruella De Vil!''
