A host of celebrity guests including Elizabeth Hurley, Claudia Schiffer, SIR Michael Caine and the OSBOURNE family were last night (21DEC05) left fuming as traffic held up their arrival at SIR Elton John's 'wedding' reception.

The glitzy jam delayed guests by up to two hours as they descended on the ROCKET MAN singer's $21.6 million (GBP12 million) pad near Windsor, England, at the same time.

The 700-strong star-studded guestlist of Hollywood film stars, musicians, royalty, TV personalities and sports stars were invited to celebrate the civil partnership of John and long-term partner David Furnish, who tied the knot earlier in the day.

But only Sarah Ferguson, the flame-haired former wife of British royal PRINCE ANDREW, managed to congratulate the 'newlyweds' punctually, after weaving through the pile-up in a police escort.

Other guests included Helena Bonham Carter, former SPICE GIRL Victoria Beckham, George Michael, Sharon Stone, Rod Stewart, Hugh Grant and Boris Becker.

The legendary rocker, 58, and Canadian film-maker, 43, 'wed' under a new British law giving official recognition of same sex relationships and the same employment, pension and inheritance rights as married couples.
