DAME Elizabeth Taylor faces an extended stay in hospital after doctors determined she should remain under their care "for a while" because of her history of health problems.
The Cat on a Hot Tin Roof legend was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Tuesday (08Feb11) to treat symptoms of congestive heart failure. The star has had ongoing problems with her heart, even undergoing surgery in 2009.
Taylor is resting and in good spirits in a private room at the facility - but her representative reveals she will remain under physicians' care until they're sure she can be discharged.
Her publicist Sally Morrison says in a statement, "She had a pretty good day Saturday, and a good night. At this stage, with her history, they're going to want to keep her in for a while just to make sure they've fixed what they needed to fix."
The Oscar winner was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2004, just one of a long list of health issues which have blighted the star.
