Ellen Degeneres is reaching out to the hundreds of angry No Doubt fans who were turned away from seeing the band perform on her U.S. TV talk show, after police were called to the set to control the rowdy crowd.
The Don't Speak hitmakers played an open-air gig on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for her Backlot Bash in Burbank, California, on Monday (18May09), with many of their loyal fans waiting in the sweltering heat for more than seven hours to see the rockers.
Despite having reserved tickets, an estimated 500 fans were refused entry to the outside recording after producers reportedly underestimated the venue's capacity - prompting police to intervene and take charge of the chaos.
But DeGeneres is trying to make amends for the incident.
A posting on The Ellen DeGeneres Show's website asks fans to fill out a brief form and tell their story: "Backlot Bash yesterday. Some people didn't get in. I never want to turn people away; if you were, we're trying to reach you. Contact us below."
