A German-made pistol once owned by Elvis Presley is expected to fetch $275,000 (£171,875) when it goes up for auction later this year (12).
The Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum Revolver, which is engraved with leaf and scroll designs in gold and silver, and features carved ivory handles, was purchased by The King in Beverly Hills, California in November, 1970.
The weapon, which comes with a custom-made leather case with 'Elvis' marked on the side, was reportedly gifted by Presley to then-U.S. Vice President Spiro Agnew just a month after he purchased it. However, it was returned to the rock legend when the politician found himself under investigation by authorities for extortion.
The item is being auctioned by online company Moments in Time.
