Elvis Presley's former home is up for sale for $12.9 million.

The legendary musician shared the Beverly Hills house with his wife Priscilla until the pair divorced in 1973 and until recently it was available to rent for $25,000-a-month.

When potential buyers first approach the 5,367 square-foot property they will notice the entry gate is still covered with handwritten tributes from fans who continue to visit the one-time home of their idol

Built in 1958, the stunning Los Angeles mansion sits on a 1.18 acre plot of land and has beautiful panoramic views of the city and the ocean. The new owners will also enjoy a pool and spa, glass windows, four bedrooms, five bathrooms and a study lined with built-in bookshelves.

The couple's only daughter Lisa Marie Presley was born at the house a year after the couple bought it in 1967.

Elvis died suddenly in August 1977 aged 42 and this year marked the 35th anniversary of his death. More than 75,000 fans joined Priscilla and Lisa Marie in remembering the rock 'n' roll star in a candle-lit vigil at his final resting place at his Graceland estate.
