Emily Blunt is in talks to appear in 'Barton and Charlie and Checco and Bill'.

Emily, 31, and Rupert Friend of 'Homeland' are good friends off screen and they could soon appear together for the first time since 2009, when they both featured in docudrama 'The Young Victoria'.

The new film marks Rupert's directorial debut, with Emily being lined up to play the part of a trickster who is taught how to con the unsuspecting before she turns the tables on her mentor.

From there, the pair embark on a road trip involving a ten-year-old Mexican boy and a newspaper mogul.

Shooting on the film is set to begin in the spring.

Meanwhile, Emily's 'The Devil Wears Prada' co-star Anne Hathaway recently revealed she would ''love'' to appear in a sequel to the popular 2006 comedy-drama, which also featured Meryl Streep.

Asked whether she would like to appear in a sequel, Anne told 'The Graham Norton Show': ''Wouldn't that be fun? I'd love to do that but I don't know if there is any plan for it.''

Anne said she is particularly keen to work with Meryl, describing her as ''the most amazing, magical, warm person''.

The actress revealed: ''She's fun and super maternal. When I met her she gave me a huge hug and I'm like, 'Oh my god, we are going to have the best time on this movie', and then she's like, 'Ah sweetie, that's the last time I'm nice to you'.

''She then went into her trailer and came out the ice queen and that was really the last I saw of 'Meryl' for months, until we promoted the film.''
