Eminem has surpassed country singer GEORGE STRAIT to become the second best-selling male artist of all time in the U.S.

The rapper's latest album, The Marshall Mathers Lp 2, surpassed the two million mark last week (ends16Mar14), lifting his total record sales to 44.9 million.

With the sales boost, Eminem takes over Strait, who has sold 44.89 million albums throughout his 30 years in the music business, even though his career predates the inception of SoundScan data.

Eminem also earned his 50th Billboard Hot 100 song with Headlights, featuring fun. frontman Nate Ruess, which debuted at number 86.
