Eminem's upcoming gig in Northern Ireland has been thrown into jeopardy amid protests from local residents who are calling for the show to be axed.
The rapper is set to play his first ever show in the country this summer (11) as part of the Tennant's Vital Festival, which takes place in Bangor on 23 and 24 of August (11).
However, locals are objecting to the festival because of the hip-hop star's inclusion on the bill, citing his explicit lyrics and edgy persona, and one man has started lobbying for the local council to refuse the event an entertainment licence.
Brian Ashworth is leading calls for Eminem's slot to be scrapped, telling the Belfast Telegraph, "I have no issue with a family-friendly concert in a park but this is a performer who uses the crudest language - language that degrades women and has the foulest, most twisted content... The council should never have allowed this."
North Down Borough Council officers will make a decision on the matter in July (11).
