British pop star Emma Bunton fell victim to Internet pranksters on Wednesday (13Feb13) when her Twitter.com account was hacked.

The former Spice Girls star logged on to the social networking website and was unimpressed to spot a message promoting weight loss to her 901,000 followers.

She urged her fans to ignore the post, tweeting, "I've been hacked!!!! Trying to sort it out now!!!"

Bunton then addressed the situation while hosting her London radio show Heart Breakfast, insisting, "It's horrible. I'm going to change my password right now."

The singer is the latest celebrity Twitter user to have their microblogging page illegally accessed in recent weeks - Alec Baldwin, Lindsay Lohan and singer Jewel have all been targeted, while Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr turned to a team of cyber crime investigators earlier this week (12Feb13) to track down a fraudster who gained access to her account.
