Robbie Williams is to perform on London's Oxford Street next month.

The 'Candy' singer will take to the stage in front of shoppers on the iconic street on November 5 - the day his new album 'Take the Crown' is released - and also switch on the

Marmite Oxford Street Christmas Lights.

He said: ''Oxford Street is a fantastic place to do your Christmas shopping and it's great to be part of the celebrations. I can't believe I am turning on the lights! 'Take the Crown' is released on the same day - 5th November - and I'm looking forward to performing for the amazing crowds on London's Oxford Street.''

'Bleeding Love' hitmaker Leona Lewis and boy band Lawson will also take to the stage before Robbie switches on the lights.

The event - which is presented by DJs Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton from radio partner Heart 106.2 - will be ticketed for the first time, with a 3,500 capacity golden circle for those lucky enough to win the chance to get close to the action.

Those wanting to be a part of this year's lights switch-on must apply for free tickets from Monday (29.10.12), via the Heart 106.2 website.

The interactive display also gives people the chance to get involved by showing whether they love or hate Marmite on a specially-designed banner. People can get their moment of fame by uploading a photo to www.facebook.com/Marmite.
