Actors Eric Bana and CLIFTON COLLINS JR. had to learn an alien language for their roles in the new Star Trek movie.
Moviemaker J.J. Abrams insisted the movie's aliens look and sound authentic, so he created an outer-space language and urged his stars to take lessons.
Bana and Collins Jr. play Romulans in the latest outing in the sci-fi franchise.
Collins Jr. tells Eonline.com, "They had a linguist come in and invent Romulan."
As for the Romulan look in the movie, the actor offers, "We're space pirates; think of Johnny Depp as a Romulan."
