A contest has been launched to find an undiscovered musician to play a live set at Eric Clapton's upcoming Crossroads Guitar Festival in New York.

The winning artist will perform in front of thousands of fans at Madison Square Garden during the two-day gig in April (13), sharing the stage with guitar greats including Jeff Beck, John Mayer, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and Clapton himself.

To enter the online competition, guitarists must upload at least one of their songs to the Play Crossroads website and write up a short personal profile.

The 100 entrants who receive the most fan votes will then be considered by a panel of industry professionals, who will pick the winner to play at the fabled Manhattan venue.
