Moody Opens Up About Evanescence Departure - Comments and Message Board

Haters will always be haters. I really respect Ben Moody and good luck to Amy Lee with Evanescence. Their new album is extremely good. As for "We Are The Fallen" they are great! And for those saying he ruined Carly's career,that's absolute nonsense. Ben has as much right to perform the "Fallen" tracks as Amy and the same goes for John Lecompt and Rocky Gray. I heard We Are The Fallen's debut and it's absolutely awesome. It's different from present Evanescence. And it's no rip off. Please answer one thing,how in the world can you rip off something that you initially created. Ben Moody had a big contribution in creating the original Evanescence sound with David Hodges. The writing chemistry between Moody and Lee was just an enigma. You guys just can't see someone happy. He did make a great sacrifice so that Evanescence continues. He even gave all his shares and rights,which were 50% of the Evanescence brand name to Lee without any conflicts. Finally after 7 years he decided to remake a band to play the music,that "HE" loves and had created previously. I don't see the problem with that. When you are an artist and you have previously created a style it tends to show in other things that you do for yourself,cause it's your own creation. So it was obvious the similarities between old EV and "We Are The Fallen" would be there. I'd like to see some of you in such a state and then making such a decision. He gave up everything. The new Ben Moody solo album is also fantastic. I am a fan of both Lee and Moody. But let's see even though I respect Amy I still don't trust everything. All the members left eventually. Moody in 2003 due to so called "Creative Differences" which was just not it,there was a lot more. Will hunt due to family responsibilities,David Hodges due to creative differences with Lee after "Fallen" was recorded,that costed Ben to almost loose his best friend and brother David Hodges. John Lecompt and Rocky Gray got fired without any warning. So technically Lee is always right and everyone else is wrong. I admire Amy Lee but this revolving door of members tells me that the problem is just not one sided but from both the sides. I wasn't a big fan of "The Open Door".There was some good stuff on it but it didn't capture the Evanescence magic to me. The new Evanescence album is certainly fantastic and sounds like an entire band effort. As for "We Are The Fallen" you can hear the joy in their music and they sound like a proper band. In conclusion both Ben and Amy are very creative people. But to me the fame and the immense growth of Ego got the best of them,specially Lee.This caused such an unrest in the entire band. Things have normalized now and she is in a better place now. The new members of EV are doing well with her. As for Ben he has reunited with his brothers to create something amazing. I heard the new EV and the first We Are The Fallen's debut and they both are fantastic and totally amazing. The final thing I would say is both Moody and Lee are with the right people now and working on some solid music. We have two great bands,so why not enjoy them. Stop putting the blame on just one person when you don't even know the fully story. Good luck to both Amy Lee and Ben Moody. One thing is for sure they created a legacy together with "Fallen" that continues with both of them in their respective bands.
