Fans of Scottish actor Ewan McGregor are splashing out almost $4000 (GBP2000) to catch the star on stage in London. The star's appearance as Iago in Shakespeare's Othello at the Donmar Warehouse has forced theatre bosses forced to send written warnings to ticket holders insisting any resold tickets "will be rendered void". Tickets for the play, which originally cost a maximum of $58 (GBP29), have been selling on the internet for up to $4000 (GBP2000). All 23,000 tickets sold out within three hours when they went on sale in October (07). It echoes the demand for Sir Ian MCKellen's performance in The Seagull in Los Angeles, which saw fans pay $2500 (GBP1225) for a pair of tickets. MCGregor last caused a storm on the London stage in Little Malcolm And His Struggle Against The Eunuchs in 1999.
