Family Ties star Meredith Baxter will open up about the abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of ex-husband David Birney, in her new memoir.
Family Ties actress Meredith Baxter, who recently revealed that she was the victim of domestic violence, will speak in-depth about her ordeal in a new memoir titled 'Untied', reports the New York Daily News.The 63-year-old, who also starred in the US sitcom 'Dan Vs', claims that her former husband and co-star David Birney abused her during their 15-year marriage. The actress said, "He's not going to pick someone who's on top of themselves and confident and aggressive. For him to be who he needed to be, it needed to be someone who was mousy and quiet and retiring, and that's what I was". Birney has denied the allegations but Meredith is set to expose further details in her forthcoming autobiography. People Magazine recently published an extract from the book, in which the actress says, "It was so sudden and unexpected, I couldn't tell you which hand hit me, or even how hard. I do recall thinking, I'd better not get up because he's going to hit me again".
Meredith Baxter hit the headlines back in 2009 when she came out as a lesbian during a live appearance on 'The Today Show'.
