Sara Cox has been confirmed to take over Fearne Cotton 's morning Bbc Radio 1 show whilst the star tales maternity leave.
Cotton, 30, took to Twitter to announce on August 8th 2012 the big news. 'Jesse [Wood] and I have some news!!!!!' she wrote accompanied by a link to her website which read: 'Jesse and I are very happy to announce we are having a baby. We are over the moon, morning sickness aside (me, not Jess) and looking forward to the little Cotton Woods arrival.' Radio 1 then wrote earlier today: 'We have news! We can confirm that the wonderful sarajcox will be filling in for Fearne when she goes on maternity!' Cox is currently a presenter on the radio station on Sunday mornings and used to host the breakfast show for three years before Chris Moyles took over in 2003. He is also set to be replaced later this year by Nick Grimshaw.
Miss Cotton turned up on the show yesterday morning (August 9th) and expressed her delight at being pregnant with her first child. 'I'm over the moon. I'm very happy. I sighed a big sigh of relief now I'm able to tell people', she said. It's not clear how many weeks exactly she has left to go, though she did express to Moyles earlier today that she has 6 months to mull over possible baby names.
