Last night's annual Met Ball (May 7, 2012) was a star-studded affair but none of the high profile celebrities in attendance dazzled quite as much as Beyonce, in her skin-tight Givenchy gown. The former DESTINY'S CHILD singer certainly turned heads in the haute couture design, which was made of sheer material, featuring black beading and sequins as well as purple and black feathers on the trailing hemline. Her appearance at the ball comes in advance of her recently-announced live shows at Atlantic City later this month. Her post-baby return has been proven to be a popular choice so far and an extra date has recently been added to the Memorial Day weekend residency.
Last night's Costume Institute Gala was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and was also attended by Rihanna - who wore a backless black number - and Kristen Stewart who also stood out, wearing a knee length Balenciaga dress. Rihanna tweeted a number of pictures from the event, as did up and coming rap star Azealia Banks, who was dressed by Alexander Wang for the evening and tweeted that she had hugged rap star Rick Ross, saying "LOL just cuddled with Rick Ross for like twenty seconds. Haha was fun.. And warm.. :)"
Beyonce may have turned heads last night but UK tabloid The Mirror placed her in their 'worst dressed' list of the evening, along with UK singer Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, who opted for a multi-layered white Alexander McQueen gown and white stilettoes.
