Foo Fighters rocker Dave Grohl has landed his own satellite radio show.

Dave Grohl Presents Sound City will premiere on Sirius Xm Radio's Classic Vinyl station on Thursday (29Nov12).

The My Hero singer will play music and tell tales about the history of Sound City Studios in Los Angeles. Grohl will release a new documentary about the music mecca in the coming weeks.

He says, "I'm so proud of the Sound City film and beyond excited for the world to see what I've been working on for the past year. Before that, though, I'm grateful to SiriusXm for giving me the opportunity to share all this great music and to let people know what got me excited about Sound City in the first place."

Grohl's weekly shows will run until the end of January (13).

He's not the first rocker to front a satellite radio show - Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Steven Van Zandt have all found they have a knack for spinning records and chatting on air.
