Rockers Foo Fighters have been forced to cancel a charity gig in Auckland, New Zealand after a truck carrying band equipment was involved in a serious accident.

The Everlong hitmakers were due to perform at Auckland Town Hall on Friday night (20Feb15) but the crash caused irreparable damage to specialised equipment.

In an announcement posted on the group's website, they insisted the driver of the vehicle was doing well after the incident and apologised to fans for the cancellation of the concert, which was being held in aid of The New Zealand Music Foundation.

The statement reads, "It is with great regret that we advise that the Foo Fighters charity concert scheduled at the Auckland Town Hall tomorrow night (Friday 20 February 2015) has been cancelled. A truck carrying essential band equipment was involved in a serious accident today whilst travelling from Christchurch to Auckland. Thankfully the driver is expected to be ok. The specialised equipment on the truck was so badly damaged it cannot be used... Foo Fighters thoughts are with our crew member for a full recovery. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to ticket buyers."

Replacement equipment is being flown in from Los Angeles to ensure the group can go ahead with its next scheduled show at the Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland on Saturday (21Feb15).
