Without fanfare, Fox News has launched a website targeting English-speaking Latinos. While some of FoxNewsLatino's features are in Spanish, most of the site presents news reports from traditional newspaper and wire-service sources about events affecting Latinos in the U.S. and Latin America and about Latin-American celebrities. Some features appear in both Spanish and English. For Example, a poll today (Wednesday) asks whether readers are planning to vote in the upcoming mid-term elections. On some pages of the website, the poll appears in English; on other pages, it appears in Spanish. Readers may check a box with answers Yes, No, or "There's an election in November?" (Sí, No, Hay elecciones en noviembre?") In a statement, Michael Clemente, senior vice president for news at Fox News, said, "The launch of Fox News Latino creates an unprecedented opportunity to expand our reach by engaging the fastest growing minority audience."
