Acclaimed film-maker Francis Ford Coppola is set to re-release his movie The Outsiders - 22 years after its debut.

The director has recut the 1983 film, adding 22 minutes in an effort to be more true to SE HINTON's original novel.

THE OUTSIDERS: THE COMPLETE NOVEL will have a new beginning, ending and score and will play in cinemas in select US cities from 9 September (05), before being released on DVD.

The classic movie had a hand in launching the careers of Matt Dillon, TOM CRUISE, Diane Lane, Patrick Swayze and Rob Lowe.
