Actress Gabrielle Anwar became an American citizen in time to vote for Barack Obama at last November's (08) U.S. presidential election.
The British born star, who famously tangoed with Al Pacino in 1992 movie Scent of a Woman, has lived in the U.S. for decades - but only applied to switch her nationality last year, when she was given the chance to help Obama win the race for the White House.
And she admits she never realised how tough it would be choosing her new home over her country of birth.
Anwar explains, "I did it very recently. The whole experience was a little strange.
"They asked me if there was a war between the United States and Britain, which would I defend. I found it really hard. Am I supposed to destroy all my friends and family?"
