British singer Gary Barlow has stepped in at the last minute to replace Lionel Richie at a star-studded concert in London on Sunday (11Sep11).
The Dancing on the Ceiling hitmaker was due to headline Bbc Radio 2's Live In Hyde Park gig, alongside other stars including Lenny Kravitz and Will Young.
It was announced by DJ Chris Evans on Thursday (08Sep11) that Richie had dropped out due to illness, but the radio host pulled in a favour from his Take That pal - and now Barlow will take centre stage at the show.
The singer says, "It's a pleasure to step in last minute and cover for Mr. Richie. Chris (Evans) called me and said Lionel had had to pull out because he was ill and they had a hole in the show, so I was more than happy to help out."
