Gary Busey, the 67-year-old Hollywood movie star, is set to switch spouses with the disgraced evangelical pastor Ted Haggard for an episode of reality series 'Celebrity Wife Swap', reports People Magazine.
Haggard, best known for being the 'rock star pastor' of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs and President of the National Association of Evangelicals, was forced to resign in 2006 after he was accused of a meth-fuelled homosexual affair. He later admitted the infidelity, telling GQ Magazine, "If I were 21 in this society, I would identity myself as a bisexual". Haggard and his wife Gayle, who stood by him throughout the scandal, have five children aged between 18 and 30. Busey had one child with his former wife Judy Helkenberg but the couple divorced in 1990. He and current girlfriend Steffanie Sampson have one son together. Sources suggest filming on the episode could begin as early as this week. Traditionally, the show sees two radically different families trade wives for two weeks. Although Haggard's appearance on the show is somewhat of a surprise, Busey is considered a reality television regular and has appeared on Celebrity Rehab and Celebrity Apprentice in recent years.
Gary Busey recently completed filming a number of projects, most notably the horror flick 'Mansion of Blood'.
