Singer Gary Jules has been dropped from performing at next week's (17FEB04) Brit Awards.

After topping the charts at Christmas (03) with his sombre cover of TEARS FOR FEARS' MAD WORLD, the American was expected to sing the track at next Tuesday's event - but organisers have destroyed his chance of performing in front of millions of viewers.

A Brits spokesman confirms, "Gary didn't get chosen."

And British tabloid The Sun claims Jules has been snubbed by Brits bosses because he's too boring.

A source says, "Gary's hardly a Beyonce or Outkast when it comes to performance.

"Those two will be one of the live acts of the year when they duet at the Brits. But Gary's just a bloke singing a gentle into the mic and the nation's now bored of him."

Beyonce and Outkast will be joined by chart favourites The Darkness, Alicia Keys, 50 CENT and THE Black Eyed Peas, at the ceremony at London's EARLS COURT.
