British actress Gemma Arterton has painful reminders of her work on new action movie CLASH OF THE TITANS - she has been left with scars from the vigorous fight scenes.
The former Bond girl plays demi-goddess Io in the big screen remake, opposite Sam Worthington and Ralph Fiennes.
She insisted on performing her own stunts and recently revealed how the whole cast struggled to deal with the extreme conditions shooting on top of a mountain in Tenerife, Spain.
She said, "We were inside a crater in the volcano so the terrain was gravel and every time I fell over I was covered in wounds. But I loved doing my own stunts... I remember one day when Sam and I could only do an uphill spring four times because we were so breathless.
"It was crazy being dressed in these skimpy outfits because in the mornings it was minus 2 Celsius. Then, as the day went on, it would get up to 27 Celsius. So it started off freezing cold and then it got scorching. But I could handle it."
But Arterton admits she's now got her own kinds of souvenirs from the challenging shoot.
She says, "I have scars on my knees. I'm the tough girl that falls down and screams, 'Oh my God!' at the end."
