Gene Simmons proposes to his long-time partner Shannon Tweed on Tuesday's season finale of 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels'. In a clip leaked to Tmz.com, the Kiss frontman gets down on one knee and finally pops the question after more than 25 years of living together.
The couple were holidaying in Belize at the time of the proposal, when Simmons told Tweed, "I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I love...and you're the only one I ever will love". A stunned Shannon looked on as Simmons continued, "I've never said those words to anybody. And I don't ever want to...funny, I used to watch movies where they say I can't live without you, but for me it's true". The clip ends before Tweed responds to the proposal, but 'Family Jewels' fans will learn whether the couple are engaged on tonight's show (26th July 2011). Gene linked to the Tmz clip on his Twitter page, adding, "Tomorrow night I put Shannon before everything".
News of the proposal may come as a surprise to some fans, considering the couple began a furious argument during a recent appearance on 'The Joy Behar Show'. Tweed had accused the rocker of flirting with other women.
