Film horror maestro George A Romero was left in fits of laughter when he watched a British satire of his cult movie Dawn of the Dead.

The 65-year-old director was pleasantly surprised by the high security bosses at Universal Studios attached to his private viewing of SHAUN OF THE DEAD - an employee arrived at his Florida holiday home with a briefcase containing the movie handcuffed to his wrist.

Romero tells British movie magazine Hotdog, "I was down in Florida on this little island on holiday.

"They sent a courier from Universal, who showed up with a handcuff on the film case. They take this s**t seriously!

"I watched the film in this little island cinema with terrible projection. I sat alone in the theatre and cracked up.

"I thought it was so referential."
