George Lucas thrilled Star Wars followers at the weekend (14/15Aug10) after unveiling a never-before-seen clip from his epic sci-fi film STAR WARS: EPISODE VI RETURN OF THE JEDI at a U.S. fan festival.
Fans flocked to the Star Wars Celebration V convention in Orange County, Florida on Saturday (14Aug10), and were treated to a clip cut from the third film in the original trilogy.
The footage from the 1983 movie, which is less than a minute long, shows Darth Vader on the Death Star as he beckons his son, Luke Skywalker, to join him on the Dark Side.
As you hear Vader's voice calling him, Luke appears in a cave, on his home planet of Tatooine. Luke then turns on his Lightsaber while droids R2-D2 and C-3PO are in the background.
A video posted on Gawker.com shows the crowd erupting in cheers while watching the clip, which symbolises the final step in Skywalker's transformation into a Jedi Knight.
