Fans of George Michael were so determined to get their hands on tickets for his extra London tour dates when they went onsale on Friday (20May11), they caused the sales website to crash.
The Faith hitmaker is heading back out on the road for a series of European orchestral concerts, kicking off in Prague, Czech Republic, in August (11).
Michael announced the trek earlier this month (May11) and extra dates had to be added to the initial schedule to cope with demand.
His fans flocked to the web on Friday to buy tickets for his new Earls Court dates in London on 16 and 17 December (11) - prompting the site to crash.
A statement from organisers reads, "The system could not cope with the thousands and thousands of demands from fans desperate to snap up tickets for these Symphonica Shows and crashed. It is now back up and running for those who were not able to get through... and tickets are available to purchase for the people who were not successful at getting through at www.ticketmaster.co.uk."
