George Michael's partner KENNY GOSS has denied reports the troubled singer has checked into rehab following his release from jail, branding the speculation "nonsense".
The former Wham! star walked free from Highpoint Prison in Suffolk, England on Monday (11Oct10) after serving 27 days of an eight-week sentence for possession of marijuana and driving under the influence of drugs, stemming from an incident in July (10).
He returned to his London home on Monday afternoon but rumours were rife he had entered a treatment centre after he left his property in the early hours of Tuesday morning (12Oct10) and failed to return.
Michael was chauffeured from the property and joked with reporters outside that he was on his way to rehab, before telling Britain's The Sun, "I want to beat my drug addiction and lead a normal life... I don't want to end up back in prison. It's a very horrible place to be. You're not considered a person when you're inside, you're just a number and that freaked me out. I have done wrong and paid my time for doing this stupid crime and I want to get my life back on track."
But Goss is adamant Michael has not checked into a clinic - he has called the speculation "nonsense" and told reporters the star is "relaxing".
Michael received treatment in rehab following his car crash in July (10) - he enrolled on a 14-day detox program and subsequently received outpatient treatment, which included drug counselling several times a week.
