George Michael has apologised to fans for pulling out of a concert in London on Wednesday (26Oct11), revealing he battled through a bad back to stage the previous night's (25Oct11) show at the Royal Albert Hall.
The Careless Whisper singer performed a homecoming gig in the U.K. capital on Tuesday but axed a second show in order to recover from a viral infection.
Michael has opened up about his health issues, telling fans he was close to pulling out of the first concert after injuring his back.
In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "London, I am truly sorry about last night, but I had performed on Tuesday with my back in spasm and a splitting headache... Without a doubt the most difficult show of my life, but London you were wonderful to me.
"Have no doubt, I will reschedule last night's show, please keep those tickets. I've worked through colds before on tour because it's such a horrific thought that people turn up and are turned away.
"The guilt is overwhelming, but this time I had absolutely no choice. Was feverish yesterday but feeling better today."
Michael is next scheduled to perform at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday (28Oct11).
