Gisele Bündchen's earnings were investigated because of Forbes' Supermodel Rich List.

The Brazilian bombshell was named the world's richest model for the seventh year running last August, with her net worth estimated at $42 million, and she has now revealed the annual ranking led to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) auditing her.

According to Vogue.co.uk's translation, she told MdeMulher magazine: ''It's sad, because the people who write these things don't have my bank account details. I do OK, I earn plenty, but not as much as they say. I've already been audited by the IRS because of this list and truthfully, whether I'm on this list or not, it doesn't interest me.''

Thanks to her lucrative endorsement deals with the likes of H&M, Chanel, Pantene and David Yurman, Gisele has topped the list every year since its creation, with Kate Moss being the only other constant in the top ten.

Miranda Kerr knocked the British supermodel from second to fourth place in 2013, but the former Victoria's Secret Angel's estimated earnings were poles apart from reigning champion Gisele's at just $7 million.

However, Gisele insists being wealthy isn't her priority and her main goal is to support her husband Tom Brady and their children, Benjamin, four, and Vivian, two, by providing them with a happy home life.

The 33-year-old star added: ''I've got the same interests, the same day-to-day life, as any woman. I want to raise my children well, be a good wife, and work. This is what I value: are my children educated, is my husband happy, are people feeling positive energy from me?

''There should be a magazine to quantify knowledge, understanding and love for people: that is power.''
