The heavyweight reunion of Gladiator director Ridley Scott and star Russell Crowe in new movie A GOOD YEAR has been branded a flop by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, the man behind the studio which backed it. Fox 2000 chief Murdoch has washed his hands of the romantic comedy, and prefers to focus on the studio's other picture The Devil Wears Prada, which cost $17 million (GBP9 million) to make and has already made a $100 million (GBP55 million) profit. A Good Year, which sees Crowe team up with Scott as an Englishman who inherits a rundown house in France, cost $35 million (GBP19 million) but only made $3.7 million (GBP2 million) on its opening weekend. Speaking at a shareholders meeting in Adelaide, Australia Murdoch said, "You've got to take the rough with the smooth."
