A Michael Jackson-themed 'Glee' episode will be screened next month.

Bosses of the hit musical TV show have fast-tracked the special show - which will pay tribute to the late 'Thriller' hitmaker - so it will now air on January 24, 2012.

The show will centre around some of his biggest hit records, much in the style of previous episodes dedicated to Britney Spears, Madonna and Fleetwood Mac.

According to TV Guide magazine, producers are planning to feature around 12 of the singer's songs and are fast tracking the writing of The Script, with the first half set to be filmed before Christmas.

The second half will be completed when the actors return in early January before airing later that month.

Insiders say Michael's family have given "their enthusiastic support" for the project and hope that it will return the focus to his music rather than his controversial death in June 2009.

And it seems the 'Glee' cast - which includes Lea Michele are excited about the episode.

Show creator Ryan Murphy says the stars are "flooding him with requests to sing their favourite Jackson numbers".
