All good things must come to end, they say. And they are right. And that includes popular actors and actresses in TV musicals ending their reign of pure, unadulterated musical joy in those aforementioned TV musicals. The season finale of this latest series of Glee has turned out to be a particularly heart-wrenching one, for fans of the show.
Not only do they have to wave goodbye to the show until the next season starts (a 'jazz hands' wave, of course, would be in keeping with the spirit of things), but this time, it's permanent 'au revoir' to some of the stars of Glee, who have now graduated from the fictional William MCKinley High School. The season finale had a lot to cram in; more so than the usual array of drama, singing and dancing. The scriptwriters had a whole bunch of loose ends to try and tie up, in amongst the renditions of 'Sit Down, We're Rocking the Boat,' 'Single Ladies' and Bruce Springsteen's 'Glory Days,' to name a few of the songs included. Some fans of the show might be left feeling a little short-changed by the hurried nature with which everyone is dispatched from the series. Billboard.com described the last episode as feeling like "everyone went batsh*t crazy and ended up in a completely different show."
It's currently still unclear which of Glee's character's will be included in next season's show. It is known that Amber Riley has graduated for good from Glee, but not all of the stars have made the announcement just yet. Amber recently posted a message on her Twitter page, saying "Just closed a chapter in my life, the only thing I've known day in and day out for three years. I'm going to miss the whole Glee family, seeing them everyday!"
