Glenn Close is relieved she didn't pick up an EMMY Award on Sunday (18SEP05) because she'd be spending this week apologising to those she forgot to thank in her acceptance speech.
The actress was beaten to the Lead Actress In A TV Drama prize by Patricia Arquette and admits she was relieved when her name wasn't called.
She says, "I took an exhale the minute I didn't win. I was paranoid that I'd forget to thank somebody. I had a speech prepared but you're so pressured to speak for 10 seconds and you've been collaborating with amazing people, so it's very hard."
Close was nominated for her role as tough cop MONICA RAWLING in The Shield.
