Veteran actor Glenn Ford cut his 90th birthday celebrations short yesterday (01MAY06) when he was overcome by weakness and fatigue. The award-winning star, best known for his roles in Superman and westerns such as THE FASTEST GUN ALIVE and CIMARRON, was forced to abandon friends and family and retire to his bedroom. Ford's actor son PETER says, "Dad has had a series of mini-strokes starting 15 years ago. He has good days and bad days." Ford retired from the film industry 15 years ago and has lived largely in seclusion ever since.
