Godsmack frontman Sully Erna has pulled out of the Rock 'N' Roll Marathon in Texas after sustaining a minor injury.

The rocker was due to compete in the sports event in San Antonio on 11 November (12), but he has hung up his sneakers and pulled out of the race.

A post on his official website reads, "Unfortunately, because of an injury, Sully has chosen to back out of the San Antonio Marathon on Nov. 11. He plans on continuing his training as soon as he is feeling better and appreciates all the fan support thus far.

"Fortunately, there will be other marathons in the near future and he looks forward to participating in one of them. He may have to take a little break for now, but he Will be back in action very soon!"

The details of his injury have not been disclosed, but Erna, who began training for the big race this summer (12), underwent knee surgery earlier this year (12).
